Hi folks
Sorry it’s a bit late – It’s been a pooh week actually – but y’know… I’ve learned that even pooh can be a good thing – and it’s not just the nurse in me………. Y’see I was getting quite concerned cos Dennis was holding back – embarrassed to pooh in front of me I suppose? I have to confess I was crass and sent a global text out when he finally used the loo……….it was a big moment for me (and Dennis I guess?)
Then…. I’ve been busy making a cake for the beautiful Emily – it was her naming ceremony on Sunday – so mum and dad wanted a Winnie the Pooh cake and I duly obliged. So y’see pooh can be a good thing…
I disappeared off on Friday, hence the late e-mail to stay at a Youth Hostel in Edale – wont be doing that again – it was full of youths!! I enjoyed a somewhat misty 14 mile walk on Saturday led by Gary over Kinder Plateau – see the picture of the amazing view at the top….. the company was fab – as ever I love the spontaneous humour – mostly unpublishable – we were reminiscing about our childhood and Steve was talking about those e-mails that do the rounds that list the ‘olden day’ things that you all go “WOW…. I remember that….” and the most memorable thing that stuck in his mind apparently was the fact that you used to always see white dog pooh on the roads….and we did indeed all go “WOW…. I remember that….”
So yet again you can see a pattern emerging can’t you? Then the conversation got around to the fact that he’d felt right poorly the day before and was worried about coming on the walk but when he knew me and Gail would be there felt ‘safer’….. I pointed out that it was ‘time and a half’ on Saturdays and that I would demand payment before any resuscitation – and quick as a flash he said “I’d be happy to – just tell me where I can swipe my card…………..”
Congrats to those of you who realised that Dennis is in fact a moggie, here's a pic - not his best angle - but anoither momentous moment when he finally learned how to use his flap.... and to those of you who thought I’d finally lost the plot and let a real blokey over the threshold – you really don’t know me as well as you thought do you? I’ll never weaken you know – mind you a real blokey doesn’t wouldn’t leave half as much fluff as Dennis does after rolling round on my carpet ;-)
Now finally the exciting bit is that if you missed donating to Sport Relief and are feeling guilty, it’s not too late - how about checking out this link and reading all about what Alex’s dad Rob (and the whole family) got up to on Saturday – it really was an amazing feat – I wish I’d gone really – as it would have been my first bit of proper ‘pulling’ this year – and it is in a good cause – Forces Hospital Charity - I shall be donating some dosh as soon as I’ve finished this.
This link tells you all about it – with some great photos http://www.virtualchaos.co.uk/blog/
And this one tells you a bit more and gives you a link to donate – tho beware this one slows your PC up a bit – http://www.forceshospitalcharity.org/
I’ll leave you with this thought….
